Alrighty then, I’m finally posting again. I am still alive, and doing well. In the months since my last post, I graduated nursing school, studied for and passed my boards, got a job on medical oncology unit (I don’t start until Junuary 11, though), and got myself a dog. He’s a red and white Siberian husky named Loki. He’s currently 18 weeks old and is almost fully potty trained (rings a bell by the door to go outside) and knows how to come, sit, stay, shake, lay down, and has almost got army crawl down.
Whew, it’s been a busy few months.
Anywho, I hope everyone is doing great!
Hello my lovelies,
I am so sorry for my lack of posting. Again, I know this comes in waves. I was recently on a vacation to Mexico and couldn’t find the time to post at all while I was there or during preparations.
Also, I’m heading into clinicals at my nursing school so I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to post in the next couple of weeks/months. I’ll try to do so whenever I can but I’m anticipating another void of writing in the future.
Again, I’m so sorry.
I am so happy that I now have 200 followers! This blog started as a way to get my writing out there, to see what the public liked and didn’t like. Even though 200 isn’t a lot in the grand scheme of things, I am still proud of this accomplishment.
But this wouldn’t be possible without all of you enjoying my writing.
Thank you so very much!
To my followers;
There has been a poem I have been working on for a couple of months now and I am hoping to send it to a couple of literary magazines, as well as several others (the most popular on this blog as well as the ones I like the most) to see if they will be published.
I am already a published poet (I’ve had one poem published in the Cicada literary magazine some years ago), but would love to start making a name for my self in the writing world.
I just thought you would like to know what I’m doing during my couple of weeks off in nursing school.
Hello my lovelies!
Wow, I never thought I could fail so bad! I think I lasted about 5-6 days of Camp NaNoWriMo before life caught up to me. The last few weeks have been hell with projects and finals and such. I’m sorry I again gave you only radio silence for several weeks in a row.
I would love to say it won’t happen again, but I still have one more semester left before I graduate nursing school and start my life as a real person in the real world so…it probably will happen at least twice more (finals at the end of this term and then again when I prepare for the NCLEX, or license exam).
Anyway, I can hope that I’ll again be regularly posting for at least a handful of weeks before classes get too rough to continue. I know I’ll be rather consistent during my break. I plan to, at least.
Thanks for putting up with flaky ol’ me!
Hello lovely followers!
For the more recent followers, let me start this post by thanking all of you for following my blog. I know I’ve had a few consistency issues throughout the past couple of months, mainly having streaks of posts followed by weeks of radio silence. I’m sorry. I know I always say that school has hit a rough patch and I’ll overcome it; this is again the case. The semester is coming to an end in a month and hopefully my last semester will give me some extra time to write. After I graduate in August, I can guarantee more posts.
I wanted to tell you all of my participation in Camp NaNoWriMo this upcoming April. I know many of you are rolling your eyes, thinking “Oh sure. Like you really succeeded with NaNo in November.” And I agree, last November was a failure considering I didn’t even manage to reach the half-way mark in my novel, Alchemic Maiden. But the best thing about Camp is that I can choose my own project and my own word count.
I have decided to work on short stories for Camp. Hopefully this will help me in practicing my longer story developments without all the time constraints and obligations writing a full-fledged novel would bring. I am going to attempt to write one short story a week, with a minimum of 3,000 words per story, rounding out my April word count goal of 12,000 words. I said “attempt” because I will also have my final exams in April and do not wish to delude myself into thinking I can keep up whatever writing streak I may develop now during the last two weeks of April.
If I like a piece of writing, I will most definitely share it here. However, I may or may not post the story in its entirety. I am trying to get some of my work published and, to do that, I may need an original work that hasn’t been published on any website yet. However, if this stipulation isn’t the case with the magazines/anthologies that I am interested in, then by golly I’ll post the story here for all of you lovely people to enjoy!
I wish you all happiness as April hopefully brings warmer weather.
My lovely followers,
I hope each and every one of you had a blast welcoming 2015! I have big plans for this year, mainly actually keeping my promise to myself to write more. I also am hoping to read as much as I can, study as if my life depended on it (oh wait, it sort of does!), workout more, and try to maintain a reasonable social calender.
That can all be done, right?
Oh well, here’s to trying!
Anywho, I wanted to say thank you to all of you reading this. It is a pleasure having people to share my writing with. I hope that your goals for this coming year will be met with joy and that no regret will touch your hearts.
